Jada grew up surrounded by a community of makers, thinkers, and dreamers who nurtured her creative spirit from the start. “I was raised on the island of St. John, carefully nurtured by a village of creators, thinkers, and free spirits—an environment that deeply shaped the artist I am today,” she shares.

Art runs through Jada’s family and her story. With a musician father and a background in dance, her early life was filled with movement and sound. It was in high school, however, that she found her true medium: storytelling through film and photography. That passion carried her to The New School in New York City, where she earned a BA in Culture and Media, balancing her studies with a thriving modeling career. Today, as she completes her master’s in Media Studies, Jada continues to explore the intersection of identity, memory, and belonging through her lens.

Her photography often returns to familiar themes: home, hardworking people, quiet intimacy, and love, all rendered in a timeless, dreamlike style. For her recent series created for Vibe, Jada turned her focus back to the Virgin Islands, capturing the faces and stories of the local and native people who hold the keys to its culture.

“This series is especially close to my heart,” Jada says. “My goal was to evoke cherished memories of the important women in our lives—images that feel dreamlike, yet incredibly familiar.”
