Vibe Jewelry is hiring for a Bench Jeweler! We are a jewelry design brand committed to the health and wellbeing of our local community in the Virgin Islands. We create heartfelt jewelry infused with love, sharing this joyous vibe with the world. We love our team members, our loyal customers, and the people of the Virgin Islands. The magnificent beauty of the ocean and the land here inspires us. Established in 2004, we have two stores in St. John Virgin Islands that are conveniently located in the heart of Cruz Bay. We’re looking for a skilled, dependable jeweler who can support our stores with high-quality bench work, engraving, repairs, and finishing for sterling silver and solid 14K gold jewelry.
The Role Logistics
We need a skilled Bench Jeweler to support our St. John stores with hands-on jewelry work, including repairs, engraving, polishing, sizing, soldering, stone tightening, finishing, and the careful upkeep of both customer-owned and in-store pieces.
This role is focused on the bench work that supports our retail and customer experience. It is best suited for someone who enjoys precise, service-based jewelry work and takes pride in helping customers continue wearing and enjoying their favorite pieces.
This will be a part-time, W-2 employee position.
This is for an in-person position located in St. John, VI 00830 and 00831. This role will likely be around 3 days per week, with the final schedule determined based on experience, availability, and business needs.

Responsibilities And Areas Of Need
Below is a list of areas where we need your help, in priority order.
- Perform jewelry repairs on sterling silver and solid 14K gold pieces.
- Complete engraving work accurately, cleanly, and with strong attention to detail.
- Resize rings and make minor fit adjustments where appropriate.
- Handle soldering, polishing, cleaning, stone tightening, finishing, and general bench work.
- Assess damaged pieces and recommend practical repair options.
- Help maintain organized repair intake, notes, timelines, and turnaround expectations.
- Communicate clearly with the retail and admin team about repair status, timing, limitations, and customer expectations.
- Support the upkeep of in-store jewelry through polishing, cleaning, finishing, and minor adjustments.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional bench/workshop area.
Skills That Will Enable You To Thrive
- Must have previous bench jewelry experience.
- Experience working with sterling silver and solid 14K gold is strongly preferred.
- Engraving experience is strongly preferred.
- You are skilled in soldering, polishing, finishing, sizing, and basic jewelry restoration.
- You are careful, patient, and detail-focused.
- You are honest, trustworthy, and respectful of customer-owned jewelry.
- You are able to learn quickly, aren’t afraid to ask questions, take initiative, and are proactive with your communication.
- You have strong organization and prioritization skills so repair work can move efficiently and accurately.
- You understand how to communicate repair limitations, timing, and expectations clearly and professionally.
